Excellent Weekend Getaway Resort in Uttaranchal

When we think of hills, we conveniently only think Tranquility. While it works great for Solo Travellers or Couples, I guess Yuyiii was looking for a Stay ideal for Families in the Mountains for their Weekend Getaway. So hail a train from New Delhi. A very comfortable 5-6 hour train journey brings you to Kathgodam and then thorugh the gorgeous mountain turns, you reach the Himalayan Family resort in about 3 hours.

Like I was saying, if you have toddlers or school going kids, this will be a great place for you to Unwind. All the ladies you can take two days off from the household chores and spend quality time with your kids and husband. Click some 'Awww --so adorable pictures' to serve as memories for a lifetime.

Each Room has a clear view of the mountains and are spacious. So you will never feel cramped. The architecture has the essence of the place. It has Character and is very Comfortable. Worth every dime!

All Simple and very Gracious, the staff at the Himalayan Resort makes your stay memorable. Check out the Chef dishing out a Kumaoni dish on a traditional old-school wood fire. We had it for lunch and the wood fire flavour made it so rich!!

Neel tells us an interesting tale of how from camping on this ancestral land with his friends stemmed the idea of building a Cottage because they loved the Night under the stars so much!!! Stones used for the construction of the Cottages are excavated from the site itself.

Experience at the property
Even though Govt. has banned the Sign Boards for Hotels/Resorts, its pretty easy to find this Property as they have painted a lot of Rocks on the way to help with Directions. There is parking as well. Staff is couteous. Resort is spread out. There is a little Games room for the Kids. Good Food - Veg & Non-Veg both. Tea Coffee Maker in the Room. Nice Wardrobes to store Luggage. Bathrooms are spacious, well maintained and Clean
Highlight of the property
Each Room is spacious and is built lavishly with a Balcony or a sitout, high ceilings and a splendid view of the Himalayas.
Things that can be improved
Didn't face any issue at the Stay.
Tip
Keep following the painted Rocks with the resort's name. Don't make any guess work and take the small turns on the way. Always confirm the route before taking a turn.
Suitable for
Really recommend it for Families with small or grown up kids as there is a small Play area, Lawn area, Balconies, Sit-Outs for Kids to play. Also, the Family Suites are such a boon for Couples with Grown up Kids

Cancellation 7 days before Check-in - No- Refund

Cancellation 7-9 days before Check-in Refund- 25 % of total amount

Cancellation 10-15 days before Check-in Refund- 50 % of total amount

Cancellation 15 days before Check-in Refund of 100 % of total amount

For confirmed booking during blackout dates/festive period/long weekend, cancellation is not possible.

Unless mentioned, the tariff does not include charges for optional room services (such as telephone calls, room service, mini bar, snacks, laundry etc). In case, such additional charges are levied by the hotel, we shall not be held responsible for it.

Alcohol Policy

The property does not sell alcohol, but guests can bring their own. There is no fee charged for corkage.
